I’m an assistant professor of Communication Studies at the University of Iowa.  I recently published my first book, Banning Queer Blood:  Rhetorics of Citizenship, Contagion, and Resistance in the Rhetoric, Culture, and Social Critique Series with the University of Alabama Press.  My next project, tentatively titled Critical Conditions:  Diabetes and the Management of the Human Body examines the trope of management in popular discourses about diabetes.
